History of Beverly Hills
Beverly Grove is a small city in the Greater Los Angeles area. It was founded in 1912 and has gone through several name changes before becoming Beverly Grove in 1913. The city began as a residential community for wealthy residents and has since transformed into a neighborhood where you can find both mansions and apartments.
The history of Beverly Grove started with its native peoples. The Tongva people were the original inhabitants of what is now Beverly Grove, a district of Los Angeles, California. They lived in small settlements along the Los Angeles River and spoke an Algonquian language called Tongva. This was also the area where Spanish explorers first landed in California. In 1769, the first Spanish land grant was made to Manuel Nieto by King Charles III of Spain, which included present day Hollywood and West Hollywood. It was named Rancho Los Feliz (Ranch of Happy Homes). The property stretched from today’s Vermont Avenue on the west to Wilshire Blvd on the east, bounded by Melrose Avenue on the south and Wilton Place on the north.
Beverly Grove is now a charming neighborhood in the Westside of Los Angeles, CA. Its central location and close proximity to everything that LA has to offer make it an ideal home for people from all walks of life. Beverly Grove is also close to Beverly Hills, Westwood Village and the Sunset Strip.
